ABC Daycare – Gloria Thomas, Director
The ABC Daycare is an accredited school for children the ages of 2 years to 5 years. We provide a loving, caring Christian atmosphere.

ABC Mass Choir – Jerri E. Williams, President and Rev. Delores Lakey-Stewart ,Director
Adults: Rehearsals: Every 1st and 4th Saturday from 10:00 am – 11:00 am

This choir is a combination of all ABC choirs, which comes together to create one massive choir for the 1st Sunday and/or church outings. The objective is to unite as one body in Christ to glorify and praise God through song, and endeavor to soften the hearts and minds of the unsaved to promote a desire to join or rededicate themselves to the body of Christ through the hearing and obeying of the Word of God.

ABC Youth Choir
Youth: Ages 12-18 Rehearsals: Every 2nd and 3rd Saturday from 12:00 – 1:00 pm

The youth choir boldly lifts up the name of the Lord in song. Members of the youth choir are encouraged to participate in Bible Study on Wednesday nights to ensure that they know what they are singing about and, as a result, are able to more clearly see God working in their lives.

Men of Atherton Choir – John H. Stenson, President and Rodney Potts, Director
Ministry Meeting: Every 3rd and 4th Saturday from 8:00 am – 9:00 am

Adult Men Rehearsals: Every 3rd and 4th Saturday from 8:00 am – 9:00 am
This unique ministry is comprised of men “Standing for Christ,” singing praises to the Lord. The Atherton Men’s choir goes one step further by setting an example of male leadership in the church. Their desire is to minister to the lost and strengthen the saints.

Angelic Voices of Atherton - Delia Powers, Director
Children: Ages 3 - 12 rehearsals: Every 2nd and 3rd Saturday from 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Angelic Voices is our children’s choir. This group of children express their love for the Lord through song and are dedicated to His work. 

Anointed Voices Choir – Jerri Williams, President and Phillip Martin, Director
Adults: 18 and up Rehearsals: Every 2nd and 3rd Saturday from 10:30 am – 11:30 am

This choir makes a joyful sound, lifting their voices and praise and adoration to the Lord. In accordance to His divine purpose, we pray that Jesus Christ be magnified in our music ministry.

Atherton Men of Today and Tomorrow (AMOTT) - Immanuel Fears, Chairperson
Ministry Meeting: Second Saturday of each month at 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

AMOTT provides encouragement to young men on their path to excellence, mentoring and helps to identify God’s purpose in their lives. AMMOT strives to lead young men to a loving, learning, and lasting relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, in a way that is fun and memorable.

Body & Soul Ministry – Darla Ramirez, President
Ministry Meeting: As needed

The Body and Soul Ministry is designed to develop a closer relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, through educating all members on how to connect their spiritual growth with health. In addition, this ministry will support and equip the congregation to lead a healthier lifestyle, which will positively impact and influence the church, their families, and the wider community. Like John, we “…pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 2)

Caring Connection Ministry – Johnnie Bonds, President
Ministry Meeting: Every 4th Saturday of the month at 12:00 noon

“Carry each other’s burdens, and this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” Galatians 6:2
The purpose of this ministry is to make a caring connection with all of Atherton’s church family who are sick, shut-in, bereaved, or are in prison. This ministry also includes calling, praying, sending inspirational words of encouragement, and monthly fellowship. The ministry keeps church administration and congregation of informed of members’ condition. 

Children’s Church Ministry Director – Marsha Hurt, Director
Ministry Meeting: Every 2nd Saturday of the month at 12:00 noon

ABC Children's Church services are held every Sunday at 11:00 am in Room 209 except the 3rd Sunday of each month when the children sing. Children church is designed to provide a Christian learning environment for children ages 5 to 11.

Christian Education Ministry - Freddie Williams, Director
Ministry Meeting: Every 2nd Saturday of the month at 10:00 am
Atherton offers many biblically based opportunities to grow in the knowledge of God. Our goal is to provide various venues that are conducive for learning, fellowship, and worship.

Computer Lab and Web Site Ministry - Pearl Adams, Director
Ministry Meeting: All meetings are called meetings.

The purpose of this ministry is to keep Atherton's Web Site update and to help members with the use of the computer, Internet and applications in the Computer Lab. We also help in getting answers to hardware and software problems that members may have on their home PC.

Dance Ministry / Ministers of Movement - Donna Thomas, Director
Ministry Meeting: Children 5 – 12 yrs. Tuesdays 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm
Teens 13 – 17 yrs. and Adults 18 yrs. and over. Thursdays 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

This ministry ministers God’s Word through dance. The purpose of this ministry is to encourage, lead souls to Christ, and to expand Gods’ Kingdom. Our goal is also to live a life of excellence according to the Word of God.

Deacons Ministry – Dea. Charles Larkin, Chairman
Ministry Meeting: Every Saturday before the 1st Sunday at 10:00 am

Deacons at ABC serve under the leadership of the Sr. Pastor and the Deacon's Chairman. They are charged with the spiritual responsibility of serving the church family by rendering aide, comfort and support to all members. Other responsibilities include being actively involved in all church activities, praying for the pastor, leadership team and the church congregation.

Deaconess Ministry – Louise Young, Chairperson
Ministry Meeting: Every Saturday before the 1st Sunday at 10:00 am and every 2nd Sunday at 9:45 am

The purpose of the Deaconess Ministry is to give spiritual leadership in assisting women in the church. Other responsibilities include assisting the pastor, preparing Communion and Communion Table, and assisting in preparing candidates for Baptism.

First Aiders Ministry, Ann Weber, Chairperson
Ministry Meeting: Every 1st Sunday at 10:00 am

The First Aiders Ministry consists of certified members. They are responsible for providing aide to persons who need immediate care as a result of injury, sudden illness, or when medical assistance is not available or has been delayed. Members are certified by the Red Cross and study from the Guide to Church Nursing.

G.Y.R.L.S. (Grooming Yielded and Righteous Young Ladies for Christ Ministry), Toni Carter, Chairperson
Ministry Meeting: Every 2nd Saturday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm

The GYRLS for Christ Mentorship Ministry Program is an eight-month program designed and dedicated to equip Young Ladies between the ages of 13 and 17 with the knowledge of who they are in Jesus Christ. This Mentorship Program instills in the young ladies the truth of God; and assists them in discovering and maximizing their God-given talents and abilities through the Word of God. They participate in individual and group lessons, discussion, and workshops. The program will help the young ladies identify the gifts that God has given them and show them how to live a God-centered, victorious life through Christ Jesus everyday.

Greeters Ministry
Greeters Ministry was established to create an environment that reflects God’s love through personal interactions with members and guests as they arrive for a service or event. 

Kitchen Ministry - Lydia Davis
This ministry coordinates and gives leadership for all events that require food preparation and use of kitchen facilities at Atherton Baptist Church.

Marriage Ministry – Pastor and Mrs. Weaver
The marriage has come under attack because it is the building block of the church. "We Have a Vision" at Atherton that ministers to the family through seminars and workshops throughout the year. Our ministry is designed to teach and assist those who attend how to better, communicate, resolve conflict, manage finances, and build a more intimate relationship with their spouse and God. Premarital counseling is also offered.

Media Ministry – Amrys Magee, Chairperson
This ministry is responsible for the audio and video recording of all services and church-sponsored events. This is a volunteer operated ministry that facilitates the sales of CD's, Tapes, DVD's and any other media provided materials.

Men’s Ministry – Deacon Alvin Williams, President
Ministry Meeting: The Saturday before the 1st Sunday at 11:00 am

This ministry is designed to instill in men a deep appreciation and understanding of God’s Word, thus enabling them to step up and become real men in the faith. In this ministry men are encouraged to be committed to God and be an example to others; also they are taught now to spiritually lead their families, be productive on their jobs, and in their community.

Music Ministry – Rodney Potts, Director
The Ministry is made up of anointed choir members, dancers, performers and skilled musicians presenting a repertoire filled with high anthems, hymns, gospel music, praise & worship songs, contemporary music. The music and arts department plays a part in every aspect of ministry, and is a very important part the growth of the church. When it’s well organized, all benefit from the ministry.

New Beginnings Ministry – Jovetta E. Smith, Chairperson
Ministry Meeting: Every 4th Wednesday at 6:00 pm

New Beginnings Ministry is designed to contact and to welcome new members into the Atherton Family. We also invite them to attend our new members’ class and Bible Study. The New Beginnings is available to answer questions, provide information, and encourage new members to become involved in one of Atherton’s many ministries. New Beginnings Ministry was established to provide a service of connection between new members and the church.

Outreach Ministry – Yvonne Ziegler, President
The Atherton Outreach Ministry is an active evangelism team reaching out to the lost and the left out. Atherton’s Outreach Ministry team provides food for the hungry, clothing to shelters, pray and preaching to those in need.

Prison Ministry
This ministry is dedicated to bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to prisoners through Bible Studies offered by our Pastor Larry D. Weaver.

Recreation Ministry – Claude Ellis, Leader
Ministry Meeting: All meetings are called meetings.

The Recreation Ministry is a ministry of service responsible for hosting Atherton’s annual Picnic, Christmas party, and other recreational social events.

S.A.L.T. (Singles Aimed at Living Truth) – Jayette Jones, Chairperson
Ministry Meetings: Every 3rd Thursday of the month from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

The Usher's Ministry is to greet each visitor and member with a pleasant smile and direct them to confortable seating.

Trustees are legal agents for the church. They maintain and handle the business affairs of the church.

Voices of Praize Choir – Marques Perry, Director
Ministry Meeting: Every 2nd and 3rd Saturday from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm

Voices of Praize Choir is a young adult choir focusing on ministering Christ to all people through song and praise. This choir ministers on the 2nd Sunday of each month at the 8:00 am service. The goal of this choir is not only to minister in song but to also submit their gifts and talents to Him in every area of their lives.

Women’s Ministry – First Lady Patricia Weaver
Ministry Meeting: Every 2nd Wednesday at 6:00 pm.

The mission of the Women’s Ministry is to assist in the spiritual growth and development of all women at Atherton. This ministry seeks to minister to the whole woman and her unique spiritual, emotional, physical, financial, and social needs. Ministry opportunities available include: Bible study, prayer teams, seasonal retreats, conferences, seminars, fellowships, book club, outreach projects, health / fitness classes, and a mentoring program linking younger and older women together in fellowship.

Women’s Missionary Ministry – Rev. Linda Howard, President
Ministry Meeting: Every 4th Saturday at 10:00 am

The Women’s Missionary Ministry is an arm of the Women’s Ministry that focuses on ministering to senior women. They sponsor a Senior’s Salute once a year, honoring seniors along with providing awards, lunch, gifts, and fellowship. They also work with giving senior support to members and the community.

Young Adult Usher Ministry

Young Adult Ushers serve on assigned Sundays assisting people in finding available seating, giving directions, and collection of offering. They are also available to help where needed.

Youth Ministry – Immanuel Fears
Ministry Meeting: Every 2nd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm.

The Youth Ministry strives to empower young people and help them develop strong moral and spiritual character. The goal of this ministry is to nurture spiritual growth through sound Bible teaching, cultivate social skills, which will enable them to interact in a diverse environment. Additionally, this ministry is available to supplement and reinforce their primary education through mentoring, tutoring, and other specialized programs.
